Lumen Deep: Idle Dive
Privacy policy
Last updated 29 September 2026
The short version
- You don't need an account. We never ask for your name, email or contacts.
- Your game progress is saved on your iPhone, with a backup copy in your iPhone's Keychain that only the game can read.
- Only if you tap Allow, the game sends anonymous gameplay and crash information to help us improve it. You can change this any time in Settings.
- There are no ads, no tracking across other apps, and we never sell your information.
Who we are
Lumen Deep: Idle Dive ("the game") is made by Khaya App Studio (Pty) Ltd, a company registered in South Africa ("we", "us"). We are responsible for the information described in this policy. You can reach us at support@khayaappstudio.com.
What stays on your iPhone
Your progress (depth, upgrades, Pearls, Gems, research, missions and your creature collection) and your settings (music, sound, vibration, data sharing) are stored on your iPhone.
The game also keeps a copy of your progress in your iPhone's Keychain, so it survives deleting and reinstalling the game. If you use iCloud Keychain, Apple syncs that copy to your other Apple devices, protected by Apple's encryption. Only the game can read it. We never receive it and cannot see or restore it.
To delete your progress, open Settings in the game and choose Reset all progress. This replaces both copies.
What we collect, and only with your permission
When you first open the game, it asks whether you want to share anonymous gameplay and crash information. Nothing is sent unless you tap Allow. If you allow it, the game uses Google Firebase (Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics) to send:
- Gameplay events, such as how deep a dive went, how long it lasted, upgrades and Relics bought, missions and goals completed, and features unlocked.
- Crash and error reports, including the state of the game when a problem happened, so we can fix it.
- Device and app details: iPhone model, iOS version, app version, language and performance information.
- Approximate location: your country or region, worked out by Google from your internet connection. The game never uses GPS or your precise location.
- A random app ID created by Firebase for this copy of the game. It is not your name, email, Apple ID or Apple's advertising identifier. The game never reads the advertising identifier.
This information is not linked to you as a person, and it is not used to track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Why we use it
Only to improve Lumen Deep: balancing difficulty, finding where players get stuck, fixing crashes and bugs, and understanding which features players enjoy. We rely on your consent to collect it. You can withdraw consent at any time by turning off Share usage data in the game's Settings; the game then stops sending information.
Who processes it
Google processes this information on our behalf as our service provider, under Google's data processing terms and its privacy and security commitments. Google may process it in countries other than yours, including the United States, protected by safeguards such as standard contractual clauses. We do not sell, rent or share your information with anyone else.
How long it is kept
Gameplay information is kept for up to 14 months and crash reports for up to 90 days. After that they are deleted.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, the game can tell you when research has finished. These notifications are created on your iPhone; nothing about them is sent to us. You can turn them off in your iPhone's Settings.
What we never do
- Collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos or precise location.
- Show ads or track you across other apps and websites.
- Sell or rent information about you.
This version of the game has no in-app purchases. If purchases are added in future, Apple handles the payment and we never see your card details.
Children
Lumen Deep is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has shared information with us, contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, laws such as South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) give you the right to ask what information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to its use, and to withdraw your consent. To make a request, email us. Because the information we receive is anonymous and tied only to a random app ID, we may need your help to find it; turning off data sharing and reinstalling the game also gives you a new random ID.
You can also complain to a data protection authority: in South Africa, the Information Regulator; in the European Union, the authority in your country (in Ireland, the Data Protection Commission).
Changes to this policy
If we change how the game handles information, for example by adding ads or purchases, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change reaches the game, and ask for your permission again where the law requires it.
