These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Khaya App Studio ("we", "us", or "our") governing your use of our mobile applications, including What's for Dinner? ("the App"), and our website at khayaappstudio.com.

By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Use of the App

What's for Dinner? helps households decide what to cook through recipe discovery, shared voting, meal planning, pantry tracking, and shopping lists. You may use the App only for personal, non-commercial purposes and in compliance with applicable laws.

  • You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum digital-consent age in your country) to use the App.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy of information you provide and for keeping your account credentials secure.
  • You agree not to abuse, disrupt, reverse-engineer, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or its systems, including attempting to circumvent free-tier limits or household access controls.

2. Accounts and Households

The App is organized around shared households. Content you add to a household (pantry items, shopping lists, votes, meal plans) is visible to other members of that household. Household admins can remove members. You can leave a household or delete your account at any time from Settings; account deletion permanently removes your data as described in our Privacy Policy.

3. Subscriptions (Pro)

Some features require a paid Pro subscription, billed through your Apple App Store or Google Play account:

  • Payment is charged to your store account at confirmation of purchase.
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the price shown at purchase.
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store or Play Store account settings after purchase. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
  • If a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
  • Pro unlocks features for your whole household while your subscription (or a referral-granted Pro period) is active.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their respective store policies.

4. Recipes, AI Features, and Content

Recipe data is provided by third-party sources and AI-generated suggestions are produced by automated systems. They are provided for inspiration only and may contain errors. Always use your own judgment regarding ingredients, allergens, dietary restrictions, and food safety. The App is not a source of medical or nutritional advice.

5. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, branding, and software, is owned by Khaya App Studio and protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our trademarks or branding. Recipe content remains the property of its respective sources.

6. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Khaya App Studio shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of the App.

7. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the App for conduct that violates these Terms or harms other users or the service. You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
